Me? Never
With the closing of his solo exhibition Me? Never, Matan Meirson, from the studio Nothing’s Personal, presents his first artist’s zine, summarizing a two years activity. Founded in 2020, the studio operates in the space between analog photography, sculpture, and costume design, and over the years has developed an experimental visual language grounded in manual working processes.
The zine includes several series that expand on the works shown in the exhibition, featuring black-and-white photographs on various subjects. What recurs throughout them is the presence of the body as a focal point of contrasts and tension - between transparency and opacity, cold and heat, sea and land, and between the desire to be seen and the impulse to disappear.
Each image was created through a slow hands-on process, involving casting the body in plaster, sewing, sculpting, photographing at various locations, and finally developing and scanning.
